“The Bread That Keeps Us Alive”
Prophetic Message by Bishop Chinnappa Madanu
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also called Corpus Christi. This is not only a feast about bread and wine. This is a feast about the living presence of Jesus Christ. This is a feast about heaven coming down to earth. This is a feast about God feeding His people when the world cannot satisfy their hunger.
In the first reading from Deuteronomy, Moses reminds the people of Israel how God led them through the desert for forty years. They were hungry. They were tired. They were tested. But God did not abandon them. He gave them manna from heaven. He taught them that human beings do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
That is a powerful message for us today. Many people today have food, but they do not have peace. Many people have homes, but they do not feel loved. Many people have jobs, money, phones, and social media, but inside their hearts they are empty. The body may be fed, but the soul is starving.
Today the Lord is saying prophetically to His Church:
“My people, do not live only for earthly bread. Come back to the Bread of Life. Come back to the Eucharist. Come back to Me.”
In the second reading, Saint Paul tells us that the cup we bless is a participation in the Blood of Christ, and the bread we break is a participation in the Body of Christ. We are many, but we become one body because we share one bread. The Eucharist is not only personal devotion. The Eucharist makes us family. The Eucharist heals division. The Eucharist brings broken people together at one table.
In the Gospel, Jesus says, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.” He does not say, “I will give you an idea.” He does not say, “I will give you only advice.” He says, “I will give you Myself.” That is the mystery of the Eucharist. Jesus gives His Body and Blood so that we may have life.
Let me share a simple story.
One day, a poor mother was walking with her little son through a village. They had no food at home. The child was crying and saying, “Mother, I am hungry.” The mother searched her bag and found only one small piece of bread. She broke it and gave it to her child. The child ate it and became quiet. Then he looked at his mother and said, “Mother, you did not eat. Are you not hungry?” The mother smiled and said, “My child, when you live, I live.”
That small piece of bread was not just food. It was love. It was sacrifice. It was life given from the mother to the child.
My brothers and sisters, in the Eucharist, Jesus does more than that. He does not give us only a piece of bread. He gives us Himself. On the Cross, He gave His life. At every Mass, He gives that same love to us sacramentally. He says, “My child, when you live in Me, I live in you.”
This is the prophetic message for this Sunday:
The world is hungry, but only Christ can satisfy.
Families are broken, but only Christ can unite.
Hearts are wounded, but only Christ can heal.
Souls are tired, but only Christ can give eternal life.
Today the Lord is calling us to three things.
First, remember God in the desert. Do not forget how God carried you through difficult times. When you had no strength, He gave strength. When you had no way, He opened a way. When you were alone, He was beside you.
Second, return to the Eucharist with faith. Do not come to Mass only as a routine. Come with hunger. Come with reverence. Come saying, “Lord Jesus, I need You. Feed my soul. Heal my heart. Strengthen my family.”
Third, become bread for others. After receiving the Body of Christ, we must become the hands of Christ. Feed the hungry. Comfort the lonely. Forgive your family. Visit the sick. Encourage the discouraged. The Eucharist we receive at the altar must become love in the street, love in the home, love in the church, and love in the world.
My dear faithful, this Sunday Jesus is not far away. He is near. He is on the altar. He is in the Eucharist. He is saying, “Come to Me. I am the living bread. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
May every family become a Eucharistic family. May every wounded heart receive healing. May every believer become a living witness of Christ. May the Holy Spirit awaken hunger for the Eucharist in the Church again.
Lord Jesus, Bread of Life, feed us.
Lord Jesus, Cup of Salvation, heal us.
Lord Jesus, Body and Blood given for the world, make us one in You.

“మనలను బ్రతికించే జీవాహారం”
ప్రవచనాత్మక సందేశం :బిషప్ చిన్నప్ప మదాను
క్రీస్తులో ప్రియమైన సహోదర సహోదరీలారా,
ఈ ఆదివారం పవిత్ర తల్లి సంఘం క్రీస్తు పరిశుద్ధ శరీర రక్త మహోత్సవం, అంటే కార్పస్ క్రిస్టి పండుగను జరుపుకుంటోంది. ఇది కేవలం రొట్టె మరియు ద్రాక్షారసాన్ని గురించి చెప్పే పండుగ కాదు. ఇది యేసు క్రీస్తు మన మధ్య సజీవంగా ఉన్నాడని ప్రకటించే మహా రహస్యం. ఇది దేవుడు తన ప్రజలను ప్రేమతో పోషిస్తున్నాడని చెప్పే పవిత్ర పండుగ.
మొదటి పఠనంలో మోషే ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలకు దేవుడు వారిని నలభై సంవత్సరాలు ఎడారిలో ఎలా నడిపించాడో గుర్తు చేస్తున్నాడు. వారు ఆకలితో ఉన్నారు. వారు అలసిపోయారు. వారు పరీక్షించబడ్డారు. కానీ దేవుడు వారిని విడిచిపెట్టలేదు. ఆకాశం నుండి మన్నాను ఇచ్చాడు. “మనిషి కేవలం రొట్టె వల్ల మాత్రమే జీవించడు; దేవుని నోటి నుండి వచ్చే ప్రతి వాక్యంతో జీవిస్తాడు” అని వారికి నేర్పించాడు.
ఈ మాటలు ఈ రోజూ మనకు చాలా అవసరం. ఈ కాలంలో చాలామందికి భోజనం ఉంది, కానీ మనశ్శాంతి లేదు. ఇల్లు ఉంది, కానీ ప్రేమ లేదు. డబ్బు ఉంది, ఫోన్ ఉంది, సోషల్ మీడియా ఉంది, కానీ హృదయం ఖాళీగా ఉంది. శరీరం తింటోంది, కానీ ఆత్మ ఆకలితో ఉంది.
ఈ ఆదివారం ప్రభువు తన ప్రజలకు ప్రవచనాత్మకంగా చెప్తున్నాడు:
“నా ప్రజలారా, భూలోక ఆహారం కోసం మాత్రమే జీవించకండి. జీవాహారమైన నా దగ్గరకు తిరిగి రండి. పవిత్ర యూకరిస్టు దగ్గరకు తిరిగి రండి. నా సన్నిధిలో జీవాన్ని పొందండి.”
రెండవ పఠనంలో పవిత్ర పౌలు మనకు చెప్తున్నాడు: మనం ఆశీర్వదించే పాత్ర క్రీస్తు రక్తంలో భాగస్వామ్యం; మనం విరిచే రొట్టె క్రీస్తు శరీరంలో భాగస్వామ్యం. మనం అనేకమంది అయినా, ఒకే రొట్టెలో పాలుపంచుకోవడం వల్ల ఒకే శరీరమవుతున్నాం. యూకరిస్టు మనల్ని ఒక కుటుంబంగా చేస్తుంది. విభేదాలను తగ్గిస్తుంది. గాయపడిన మనసులను ఒకే బలిపీఠం చుట్టూ కలుపుతుంది.
సువార్తలో యేసు ఇలా చెప్తున్నాడు: “నేనే పరలోకం నుండి దిగివచ్చిన జీవాహారం.” యేసు మనకు కేవలం ఒక మంచి ఆలోచన ఇవ్వలేదు. కేవలం మంచి బోధ ఇవ్వలేదు. ఆయన తనను తానే మనకు ఇచ్చాడు. అదే యూకరిస్టు మహా రహస్యం.
ఒక చిన్న కథ వినండి.
ఒక పేద తల్లి తన చిన్న బిడ్డతో గ్రామం గుండా నడుస్తోంది. ఇంట్లో తినడానికి ఏమీలేదు. బిడ్డ ఏడుస్తూ, “అమ్మా, నాకు ఆకలిగా ఉంది” అన్నాడు. తల్లి తన చిన్న సంచిలో చూసింది. అందులో ఒక చిన్న రొట్టె ముక్క మాత్రమే ఉంది. ఆమె దానిని తీసుకుని బిడ్డకు ఇచ్చింది. బిడ్డ తిన్నాడు. కొద్దిసేపటికి తన తల్లిని చూసి, “అమ్మా, నువ్వు తినలేదు కదా? నీకు ఆకలి లేదా?” అని అడిగాడు. తల్లి చిరునవ్వుతో, “నా బిడ్డా, నువ్వు బ్రతికితే నేనూ బ్రతికినట్టే” అంది.
ఆ చిన్న రొట్టె ముక్క కేవలం ఆహారం కాదు. అది తల్లి ప్రేమ. అది త్యాగం. అది జీవాన్ని ఇచ్చే ప్రేమ.
ప్రియమైనవారలారా, యూకరిస్టులో యేసు అంతకంటే గొప్పదాన్ని మనకు ఇస్తాడు. ఆయన కేవలం రొట్టె ముక్కను ఇవ్వడు. ఆయన తనను తానే ఇస్తాడు. సిలువపై తన ప్రాణాన్ని ఇచ్చిన యేసు, ప్రతి పవిత్ర మిస్సాలో అదే ప్రేమను మనకు ప్రసాదిస్తున్నాడు. ఆయన మనతో చెప్తున్నాడు: “నా బిడ్డా, నీవు నాలో జీవిస్తే, నేను నీలో జీవిస్తాను.”
ఈ ఆదివారం ప్రవచనాత్మక సందేశం ఇదే:
లోకం ఆకలితో ఉంది, కానీ క్రీస్తే నిజమైన తృప్తి.
కుటుంబాలు విరిగిపోతున్నాయి, కానీ క్రీస్తే ఏకత్వం.
హృదయాలు గాయపడ్డాయి, కానీ క్రీస్తే స్వస్థత.
ఆత్మలు అలసిపోయాయి, కానీ క్రీస్తే నిత్యజీవం.
ఈ రోజు ప్రభువు మనల్ని మూడు విషయాలకు పిలుస్తున్నాడు.
మొదటిది, ఎడారిలో దేవుడు నిన్ను ఎలా నడిపించాడో గుర్తు పెట్టుకో. నీకు బలం లేనప్పుడు దేవుడు బలం ఇచ్చాడు. నీకు మార్గం కనిపించనప్పుడు ఆయన మార్గం తెరిచాడు. నీవు ఒంటరిగా ఉన్నప్పుడు ఆయన నీతో ఉన్నాడు.
రెండవది, యూకరిస్టు దగ్గరకు విశ్వాసంతో తిరిగి రా. మిస్సాకు అలవాటుగా మాత్రమే రాకండి. ఆకలితో రండి. విశ్వాసంతో రండి. “ప్రభువా, నా ఆత్మను పోషించు. నా హృదయాన్ని స్వస్థపరచు. నా కుటుంబాన్ని దీవించు” అని ప్రార్థించండి.
మూడవది, ఇతరులకు రొట్టెలా మారండి. క్రీస్తు శరీరాన్ని స్వీకరించిన మనం, క్రీస్తు చేతులుగా మారాలి. ఆకలితో ఉన్నవారిని పోషించాలి. ఒంటరిగా ఉన్నవారిని ఆదరించాలి. కుటుంబంలో క్షమించాలి. రోగులను సందర్శించాలి. నిరాశలో ఉన్నవారికి ధైర్యం చెప్పాలి.
ప్రియమైన విశ్వాసులారా, ఈ ఆదివారం యేసు దూరంగా లేడు. ఆయన బలిపీఠంపై ఉన్నాడు. పవిత్ర యూకరిస్టులో ఉన్నాడు. ఆయన మనల్ని పిలుస్తున్నాడు: “నా దగ్గరకు రండి. నేనే జీవాహారం. ఈ ఆహారాన్ని స్వీకరించువాడు నిత్యజీవం పొందును.”
ప్రతి కుటుంబం యూకరిస్టు కుటుంబంగా మారాలి. ప్రతి గాయపడిన హృదయం స్వస్థత పొందాలి. ప్రతి విశ్వాసి క్రీస్తు ప్రేమకు సజీవ సాక్షిగా మారాలి. పరిశుద్ధాత్మ దేవుడు సంఘంలో యూకరిస్టుపై కొత్త ఆకలిని కలిగించాలి.
జీవాహారమైన యేసయ్యా, మమ్మల్ని పోషించు.
రక్షణ పాత్రమైన యేసయ్యా, మమ్మల్ని స్వస్థపరచు.
లోక రక్షణ కోసం ఇచ్చబడిన శరీర రక్తమైన ప్రభువా, మమ్మల్ని నీలో ఏకం చేయు.
